Human Beings have always been a species that liked taking risks. That surge of emotions that rushes through us when we take that leap of faith, it truly is like no other.
Ever since I was a little kid, I have always been someone who enjoyed taking risks. I’ve had a lot of chances to travel in my life, thanks to my parents. I’ve been to places in the other corner of the globe, had the opportunity to study halfway across the world from home, and a lot more.
One of the things I’ve done for a long time now, was keeping lists. I have a list of places that I want to travel to. I have a list of things I want to do before I turn 30. I’ve even got a list of lists I need to make (Yes, I do see the irony in that)! But of all of these, one of my favourite lists is my list of adventure sports that I want to do in my life.
About a year and a half back, I had the chance to go Bungee Jumping in Whistler, Vancouver, Canada. Long story short, I didn’t go. And that is something I still wish I had done. I am sure I’ll get the chance to again, but stil… So I suppose it really is no surprise that I jumped at the opportunity when I got the chance to go Sky Diving.
So just in case, for those of you that don’t already know; Sky Diving or Parachuting is the sport where you jump of a plane and come to ground trusting gravity to do its job and the parchute above you to slow down the process.
I was lucky enough to go Sky Diving in Dubai above Palm Jumeirah about a week back. And that will always remain one of the top moments of my life.
One of the best places in the world to skydive, the palm offers a beautiful view on all sides with a beautiful Dubai stretching out below you. On a clear day, you get a beautiful view of the Palm, Atlantis, and so much more of Dubai that you don’t get to see the same unless you’ve got an aerial view.
1-minute free fall followed by about 4 minutes hanging from the parachute with nothing but a beautiful landscape stretching out below you, an aerial view and a moment you will never forget in your life. It truly was an amazing way to start the new year! I skydived into 2019!
