Conquering the Impossible!

I don’t know if you follow Politics and I don’t know if you’re pro Trump, but irrespective of it all, one quote from his 2017 commencement speech has always stuck with me

“The more people tell you it’s not possible, that it can’t be done, the more you should be absolutely determined to prove them wrong. Treat the word ‘impossible’ as nothing more than motivation.”

In our daily lives, we are always going to keep coming across those who tell us that our efforts are futile. People who tell us that the task we’ve undertaken is impossible, impractical. Unfortunately, this is not something that we can completely avoid in life. But rather, what will make a difference is how you react when someone says this to you.

There are very few things in this world that are actually impossible. Like maybe, immortality. Every time someone tells you that something is impossible, remember that it might not be so.

When you’re at work and you say yes to an impossible deadline, remember that you said yes because you thought it through and you believe you can do it. Or maybe when someone says that your client is impossible, they probably just have been misunderstood or misunderstood your colleague. And when people say that managing as many accounts at the same time is impossible, it’s probably just that no one has tried it yet.

And that’s not all. It’s never fun and the list goes on. When someone tells you that a decent work-life balance is impossible if you want to grow in your career, when your first try at something new fails and every other time someone said you were trying to achieve something that wasn’t possible.

Let’s think about that for a second.

The world believed that flying was impossible and then we invented planes in 1903. The world knew that going into space wasn’t possible, and then the first space shuttle soared into orbit in 1981.

In life, all of us say something is impossible when it’s impossible for us. We say it when we can’t imagine things a different way. And we say it because we underestimate our abilities.

Life might not always be about big things. You might not be trying to figure out the answer to immortality every day. But never forget that all the little things that we do every day, it was all impossible once. When someone tells you that something is impossible, never take their word for it. Give it a shot, do your research, make your decision. And after all, that, if you don’t think it’ll work, that’s fine, but at least you know now that it’s not possible for you in that situation. But it would have already become possible for you if the situation was different (like every deadline you missed!). Every time someone says that to you, remember that that right there is the best motivation you can find!

For all you know, in another 50-100 years, humans might have figured out the answer to immortality!
