After a while in Tamil Cinema, it felt like I was finally watching a Tamil film that I would go to the theatre repeatedly to go and well, just have fun.
Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithal starring Dulquer Salman, Ritu Varma, Rakshan, Niranjani Ahathian, Gautham Vasudev Menon and Anish Kuruvilla in leading roles and directed by Desingh Periyasamy is a definite must-see that is still running in theatres.
First things first, other than the story and direction, the music absolutely steals the show. Brilliant background music with just the right level of excitement in just about every scene, the soundtrack absolutely lifts the film to an entirely new level. Soundtrack composed by Masala Coffee and background score by Harshavardhan Rameshwar is absolutely brilliant and can definitely end of on loop on your playlist as they did in mine.
And from there, the direction then steals the show away. Twists where you don’t expect it, a story that you could predict but not when or how you would make sure that you don’t lose interest and humor in about everything in even the smallest ways possible to keep all kinds of audiences engaged and enthralled and not wanting the film to end. There’s no forcing the character down the throat by our director and instead, the actors do a brilliant job of making us love then, and that’s all of them! When the story takes a 180-degree turn, it is still seamless and doesn’t feel out of place at all.
Brilliant energy from Dulquer and Rakshan stays the same from the beginning to the end with the chemistry between every single one of the main four characters on point. Effortless renditions and personifications of characters from all including Gautham Vasudev Menon in every kind of variation the characters all end up playing in the one movie.
Of course, there’s still a few missed here and there like a Game Play with the controller switched off, a few dull moments after the intermission and a few others can easily be ignored.
If you’re looking for a film to just go enjoy, laugh, have fun and come, don’t miss this one while it’s still in theatres. Id’ give it a 4.5/5!
THIS MOVIE WAS AWESOME. I LOVED IT. TIME FLEW. THE PLOT WAS SOOO GOOD WITH SUCH UNEXPECTED TWISTS. IT MADE LAUGH. HAD ME HOOKED FROM THE START
