So Far (10 years ago):
He wanted to go from being her best friend to being more for her. He didn’t just want to be in a relationship or something simple with her. He knew for sure that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. He wanted to marry her. And yet, he didn’t know if she even realized that he had these kinds of feelings for her.
Now:
It had been ten years since his life had completely changed. Henry knew that he was nowhere close to the guy he had been 10 years ago.
Today, he was a new man. And he knew that it was all thanks to the 3 women in his life. They had shaped the kind of person he had become, they were the light at the end of his tunnel.
People always said that when you had kids, you automatically end up loving the kids a tad bit more than your wife. You end up falling in love with those cute hands, the beautiful faces that looked up to you and that unwavering love they had for you.
Somehow, that hadn’t happened for him.
He loved his 2 girls to bits. The twins were his everything. But his wife, he didn’t know how to describe it. She was not some other person he was in love with. She was a part of him. A huge part of who he was.
He was finally on his way home after a long day at work. 10 years ago, a Friday night would have meant a night of clubbing, fun with friends, all night parties and so much more. But now, these were the last things on his mind. In fact, they were absent from his mind. Instead, he was on his way home to relax, chill on his couch with his kids. His kids and Emma.
It hadn’t been the easiest life. They had had to go through a lot more than he ever imagined before they had even gotten close enough to think about marriage. But it had all been worth it. Emma had been worth it.
…
Emma had been waiting when Henry finally got home and rang the bell. The sight of Henry still sent butterflies flying in her stomach. There was something about him that made her feel safe, calm, almost at peace. It had taken her a long time to get used to that feeling. It had scared her, a lot, in the beginning, but she had finally realized that he was not something she needed to be worried about. He would definitely never let her down.
He was a part of her…
