One of the recent Hindi films I watched was ‘Jab Harry met Sejal’. Coming out, the movie tended to have a different outlook towards it. Assumed to be a remake of the famous English film ‘When Harry met Sally’, the movie received not so great reviews.

Having finally watched the film now, I’d call it a typical new-age rom-com where the protagonists start off as strangers but the situation makes them end up spending more and more time together that gradually allows them to get to know each other and eventually, fall in love with each other.
Having said that, while very differently put, the film does give a cliched feeling based on the similar underlying theme that seems to revolve around romantic comedies.
Ultimately, if you can stop yourself from over analyzing it, it’s a movie that you can watch and enjoy. Laugh with, feel with, and well, just enjoy it.
While the music might not stand out too much, it definitely blends in with the movie, complimenting the story very well.
Direction by Imtiaz Ali and Cinematography by Mohanan compliment each other to produce a visually appealing final product!
Acting by Shahrukh Khan and Anushka Sharma, of course, goes well with the story and the characters and fits perfectly well.
So if you’re looking for something light-hearted and something to enjoy, this is definitely a film that you can consider!
I’d give it a 3.5/5.
